Structured Cabling Technician

Install and restore structured cabling so networks, phones, cameras and access points have clear, tested and maintainable connections.

WHAT THE WORK INVOLVES

Build an organized physical foundation for connected systems.

Every assignment begins with an agreed scope, site requirements and a clear definition of completion. Confirm the work instructions and available support before starting.

01Review cable routes, access restrictions, drop locations and approved installation requirements.
02Pull and secure Cat5e/Cat6 cabling, maintaining appropriate routing and cable handling.
03Terminate jacks and patch panels, dress racks and label both ends of every completed run.
04Trace existing cabling, identify damaged runs and document corrective work.
05Perform the specified continuity, wire-map or certification testing; support fiber work within your demonstrated skill set.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Bring skills you can demonstrate.

Practical experience with copper termination, patch panels, cable tracing and organized rack work. Clearly identify whether your capability includes fiber termination or certification testing.

TOOLS & PREPARATION

Arrive ready for the assignment.

Termination tools, punch-down tool, cable tester, toner/probe, labeler, fish tape or rods, job-appropriate ladder and safety equipment. Certification equipment when specified.

CLOSEOUT EXPECTATIONS

Show what was completed and tested.

Deliver cable and port labels, drop locations, test reports, route photographs and an updated port map. Leave pathways, racks and work areas clean.

PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS

Represent Coterie with care.

Communicate arrival and progress, protect customer property and information, follow site safety procedures and escalate blockers promptly. Coterie requires dispatched technicians to complete background checks and drug screening before assignment.
